Three weeks late, but still very blessed to receive a medical update taken at 5 months and 2 days old. Is there some kind of No Smiles for Mom conspiracy going on here? They say she is a smiley, happy thing most of the time. Come on, girl!!!
We didn't get a translation, but I get a pretty good gist that she is doing fine developmentally. She's paying attention to her surroundings and touching things. She babbles and eats cereal with her bottle. She is turning over and pushes backwards in her walker. She likes her bath (unlike her brother). She should taker her multivitamin. Her vaccines are up to date and the doc wants to see her back in a month, which is only 5 days from now.

Her pretty face takes my breathe away. I'm just teary eyed to imagine touching those cheeks and cute little arms.

Why does adoption paperwork keep families separated for so long? Can I have prayers of peace for this mama's heart? Waiting is never fun, but to know she is growing up with out me . . . ? *sigh*

I'm adding this picture since it makes me laugh. She looks as STUNNED as we were to not get a matching grant from the California group. (sneaking that sad news in here). We are still going to send out a fundraising letter and trust in the Lord that He will provide a way when there doesn't seem to be one right now.

She does have such a sweet face! I'm praying that she'll be with you soon and that she will not have difficulty adjusting to her new family, having been with her foster mom for so long. I don't understand why it takes so long, either.
As for not smiling in pictures, maybe the camera startles her. After all, it is a strange-looking box that suddenly blinds you without warning... :o)
I can't wait to meet her in person!
