In the few months we've been at our new church, it's been exciting to watch a budding relationship between our congregation and the Korean congregation that also meets in our building. If approved, their youth director will be helping Aaron out with some of our ministries and (future) youth. David is a hilarious guy; both he and his wife grew up in the states and attended Liberty University. Anyway, tonight they church put on a concert that blew us away--it was just wonderful. Since there were many English speakers attending, Pastor Kim asked Aaron to write a script for a gospel message and he translated. They made a good team. Not too long before the performance, the director decided it would be a fun surprise if Aaron would pretend to interrupt him before the last song and ask to conduct! He hasn't done much of that since music school in college. In front of the choir is a brass quartet and drummer from the US Army band, since one of the church members was a member. Leading some of the best musicians in America on a whim with no practice? No pressure there, Aaron!! Without further ado. Here is the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's Messiah.
