In Guatemala day 3

The following posts chronicle our three days in Guatemala visiting Jackie and the CAM missionaries we may serve along side. We were blessed with a fantastic deal on tickets and decided this would be a perfect way to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. We left encouraged and excited about the ministries in Guatemala, a vision for how God may use us to His Glory, and a peace that our baby is happy, healthy, and is taken care of by a wonderful family. Praises all around!

Saturday was a whirlwind. I finally "got ready" for the day at 11:00. 11:00 at night that is!

Here are some videos I took at 3 in the morning. *yawn* Here she is with her favorite word Da! Da! Daddy! Da! Daddy! Da! Da!

The lil stinker had us both us at 6 am in the morning. *more yawns*

I was asked to slip on some jeans for a quick trip to the Artisan Market where we looked for some small gifts. Glenn took us to a small coffee roasting business right next to the airport. We bought thirty pounds of coffee to thank our friends across the country who send $$ support to LifeSong for Orphans for a grant to the adoption agency.

Waiting for coffee beans: Roaster.

We went straight to the Glicks house which is owned by the Barb and Amado, friends from our church. After lunch with them it was time to hurriedly pack up Jackie. Maria Glick, who just finished 7th grade the day before, practiced her babysitting skills by helping give the baby a bath and get dressed. While I went through our things to separate out what we would leave with the foster mom, the room filled up to ooo and aah over the frilly lil socks, hair bows, and dresses. At one point we laughed and laughed asking, "how many CAM Ladies does it take to dress a baby?!" We figured it out. It was me, Maria with mom Sandy coaching, Cindy Spaugh, & Chris Pater.

From there we headed off to Antigua for several stops. We stopped at long time CAM missionaries the Phillipi's plus Danny and Daphne Foote came to meet us. They have a few kids in the Spanish speaking schools and a lil toddler. While there we met some adoptive parents caught up in the same mess we are in, but are fostering their children until it is through. Ohhhh the jealousy in my heart . . . what I would give for that opportunity! We visited the market there where we got Jonathan a country soccer jersey, a candy store Aaron fell in love with during his last 3 trips there, and the home of another missionary couple that gets water filtration systems set up.
