Support Letters are (mostly) out!

All but a handful of support letters went out the door before we left for Guatemala. If you haven't received one, shoot me an email. As of Friday, LifeSong for Orphans had already received our first gift from some friends from our old church who also adopted from Guatemala. Thank you! Raising $10K to help bring Jackie home is a job only God can accomplish.

Below is a favorite picture from our trip. I've laughed that the caption should read something like, "for pennies a day, you can make a difference in the life of this orphaned child." I thought that was funny yesterday, but tonight it seems far more poignant given the fact that her current guardianship is neither in the hands of her birthfamily nor her forever family. Her guardian is a businessman and her fate is in the hands of a government that struggles with corruption from top to bottom. In reality pennies a day will make a difference in her life, but only with the grace of God who is in control and has numbered the hairs on her head. Not funny. Not funny at all.

My heart breaks for this child.
Pray the gov't finds favor with our paperwork this summer!
