Spring picture update

I know you are here for the pictures. So here we go.

A favorite Brad Bridges took a few weeks ago.

Elaine. One the bestest people I know.

Jackie's thoughtful pose. Interesting to note...in Guatemala she was topping the US charts as high as the 97th percentile. She is now 26 pounds and 32 inches...which puts her just above the 50th in both catagories. She's moving into 2T clothes for the summer.

A video of her beginning to use the word Go! The burn on her hand was an accident with the oven when the nanny was baking.

A silly moment. Jonathan and Jackie have this routine of making nonsense noises together. Jon will say something like "ahhhhhhhh" or "bee dah bee dah bee dah" and she'll mimic him. It's loud, but cute!

Long and whiny clip, but I don't have a still picture to share of Jonathan and want to give him some air time too.

The Great Ear Infection of 2009
The season brought lots of tears with teething and months of ear infections. In true toddler fashion, Jackie didn't show any symptoms of an earache beyond throwing herself to the ground if we didn't immediately grant her demands. Three times I brought her to the doctor for "acute crabbiness" and each time my Mama Instinct was rewarded with an antibiotic to clear up her ears (temporarily.) Her system can't handle the antibiotics, so then we are dealing with diaper rash something fierce. The bummer of it all is that Early Intervention will be helping us determine if the ear infections are causing a speech delay. It could just be that she heard Spanish for 10 months, English-only for 5 months, and has had a Spanglish speaking babysitter for the last 3.
