Happy 1st birthday!

Our lil girl was born on Oct 13 around 2 in the afternoon. Last fall I posted a video on this blog of a short movie clip I made on my phone of Jonathan picking pumpkins out at the Central Market in Dallas on a rare mid-day break Aaron took from studying to enjoy the gorgeous weather with us. Little did we know it was within minutes of her birth in the Renacar hospital in Mixco, Guat.

I made an adult pleasing Ooey Gooey Butter Cake by Paula Dean with pumpkin. As I mention in the video...this is probably the last birthday for a while that we aren't eating some type of pink or princess cake.

We brought a cake to the Wednesday night Bible Study at church and were surprised with lots of lil presents for the Birthday Girl! Even Jon got some puzzles, crayons, and vicious looking plastic spiders that I hope to never randomly find in my house when alone. =)

Foster Mama Jacky sent a birthday blessing the day after her birthday--the one year anniversary of picking her up from the hospital.
